Could your tanning cream give you cancer?
There's masses of perplexity out there about sunscreen, when we should use it and what should ideally be in it. Epidermal specialists and the North American Cancer Society have let us know that we should not go out in the sun without sun lotion. Cardiologists and GPs are informing us that we really need the sun because without it we cannot get enough vitamin D. What's a health aware person to do? The truth possibly lies somewhere in between: we should be using healthy, natural suntan lotion but should also permit ourselves to get some natural sun exposure everyday.
What's a non-damaging sunscreen I can use?
Main line sunscreens are full of lots of damaging chemicals that you almost certainly need to stay away from (and keep your folks away from too). In fact the Environmental Working Group released a study claiming that as much as four out of 5 of the 1,000 sunscreens they tested may contain noxious chemicals and may not protect users. There's a big listing of harmful ingredients that you would not want to see included in your suntan lotion. Below is just a partial list:
